CURT Management software - Automated monitoring and control

At sites where operations regularly generate dust, information (such as weather, amount of dust in the air, and time) can be used to automatically determine when the system should be in operation and how it should be controlled.

There are many benefits. It means, for example, that staff do not have to be out on site as much - switching equipment on and off. It is also a safety issue. Automated monitoring and control leads to further cost savings as the system is only running when there is a need for dust control.

Site visit, problem identification and planning

To make sure we deliver an optimal and sustainable solution we would like to make a site visit early on in the project, where we jointly look at the dust problem, specific requirements and investment objectives.

Site visit

A site visit early in the project is important to identify a variety of factors that might affect the selection and size of equipment, and any add-ons to achieve the most efficient and sustainable results. Regulatory requirements are also discussed at this stage.

Another important question is how the machine or system will be monitored and controlled, i.e. manually or automatically. Should it be a fixed installation or should it be possible to move the equipment around as needed?

Problem identification

During the site visit we discuss a number of different issues. Here are few examples:

  • What is the source of the dust? Is it a single point or over a large area?
  • What type and amount of dust does the dust source create?
  • Area near the dust source: Wind impact? Machinery, personnel and vehicles in motion? Possible safety hazards?
  • Is electricity and water available at the site?

Planning

Using the information gathered during the site visit, we prepare a summary and review it with the client to ensure that we agree on the scope of the project.

The next step is to start planning the project in order to propose a sustainable solution. At this stage we are in close contact with EmiControls' technical department, focusing on getting the most efficient system possible, with a low operating cost.

Choose the right product or solution for optimised dust control

Every dust problem is unique. The Knowledge base provides information on how dust control works and which questions are important to answer in order to achieve an effective, sustainable solution with low water and energy consumption.
