System add-ons for dust control equipment and solutions

EmiControls' products and solutions can be equipped with a wide range of optionals to guarantee maximum adaptability for all types of requirements and installations.

Listed below are some of EMIControls' system add-ons. Contact us for more information for the full range - trailers, lifts, etc.

CURT - Automated monitoring and control

CURT is a management software that monitors all dust suppression equipment and controls the entire system in real time.

In places where work regularly generates dust, information (such as weather, amount of dust in the air and time) can be used to automatically determine when and how to switch the system on and off.

There are many benefits. It means, for example, that staff do not have to be out on site as much - switching equipment on and off. It is also a safety issue. Automated monitoring and control leads to further cost savings as the system is only running when there is a need for dust control.

Leading, innovative technology

With innovative technology, knowledge and extensive experience, EmiControls has developed products that result in effective dust control by controlling droplet size, water consumption and throw length with the lowest possible energy and water consumption. Compared to other machines, energy consumption is on average 25% lower at the same throw length.

Nozzle head

The unique nozzle head creates a longer throwing distance with the same energy consumption compared to a traditional ring and has the following features:

  • Laminar flow, i.e. parallel to the airflow
  • Ceramic inserts for wear resistance
  • The water flow can be adjusted with three different settings

Nozzle ring

The larger V22 and V22Orca dust controllers have in addition to the nozzle head, a nozzle ring, which increases the throw length and the desired amount of water necessary to achieve effective dust control over large areas.

The combination of a nozzle head and a nozzle ring makes the larger dust controllers less sensitive to wind.

Rotor blades

One of the most important factor regarding the efficiency and performance of dust controllers is throw length in relation to energy consumption. The design of the rotor blades is of great importance to achieve efficiency and performance.

EmiControls has developed the rotor blades over time to make them more aerodynamic, increase droplet acceleration and minimise noise.

Coverage and throw length

Different dust problems and applications require different solutions. EmiControls manufactures dust controllers with throw lengths ranging from 8 to 90 metres, which means that an effective and suitable solution is available for every dust problem.

Choose the right product or solution for optimised dust control

Each dust problem is unique. To achieve the most effective dust control it is important to understand how different parameters affect the choice of product and type of solution.

  • How does dust control with water mist work?

The most important factor for effective dust control is the water mist. Its function is to wet the airborne dust particles, which become heavier and fall to the ground. At the same time, the water mist moistens surfaces (material as well as the ground), which prevents dust particles from becoming airborne. The amount of water mist is adjusted is adjusted to avoid water accumulation on the ground or make the material too wet.

  • Indoor or outdoor dust control?

Factors that need to be considered for indoor or outdoor dust control include temperature, wind and amount of water required to effectively control the dust.

  • Is the dust problem at a specific point or over a larger area?

When choosing dust control equipment it is important to know if the dust problem area is at a specific point or over a larger area.

  • Fixed installation or will the equipment be moved around on site?

What type of work is carried out at the site and what does it look like in the area near the actual dust source? Wind impact? Machinery, personnel and vehicles in motion? Other possible safety hazards?

  • Is electricity and water available at the site?

When electricity or water is not available in the area where dust suppression is to be carried out, a mobile solution with a water tank and/or a generator is a good solution.

  • How should the equipment be monitored and controlled?

Factors to consider when choosing a control system include equipment accessibility during operation and workplace safety. In many cases, automated control and monitoring of the entire system using CURT Management software can save costs and increase safety.
