Evaporative cooling with water mist
Avoid increased running costs with a simple and energy-efficient solution for pre-cooling of condenser units during periods when the surrounding temperature is higher than normal.
Air conditioners, ventilation condensers, fridge condensers, etc. reduce their efficiency on hot days as the circulating fluid of the condenser unit is not cooled as effectively due to the higher surrounding air temperature. In order for the condenser unit to maintain the temperature of the coolant on a warm day, more energy is needed, which leads to higher operating costs.
A simple and very energy-efficient way to ensure a continued efficient cooling process is to install a pre-cooling spray system with misting nozzles.
How does evaporative cooling with misting nozzles work?
The misting nozzles create a fine water mist that is sucked into the condenser unit, where the small water droplets evaporate, lowering the temperature of the cooling cells.
For water droplets to evaporate, energy is required, which in this case comes from the surface of the hot condenser cell surface. When the droplets are heated up and change from liquid to gas phase, energy is taken from the condenser cooling cells, thus lowering the temperature of the cooling cells.
Choosing the right type of nozzle with the right droplet size will maximize the cooling effect. It is also important to choose a nozzle with low water consumption to save costs and avoid any problems that may be created with excess water.
Quick and simple installation
Our solution for energy-efficient cooling of different types of condenser units is to install HA misting nozzles near the condenser cooling cells. HA nozzles produce a fine water mist at 3-5 bar and are available in many different sizes, spray angles and materials.
In addition to nozzles, we also supply pipes, hoses and T-couplings for easy and quick installation. If you are looking for a complete solution we recommend the DustFlex system, which consists of hose, T-couplings and HA nozzles.
Project review and proposed solution
To deliver the optimal solution, it is important to go through in detail various factors that affect product choice, type of solution, investment objective, and other requirements at an early stage of the project.
A start-up meeting is important to find out about various factors that will affect choice of equipment and solution in order to achieve the most efficient and sustainable solution. We are happy to set up the start-up meeting as a web meeting or a site visit, depending on your preference. All details and information from the start-up meeting we will summarise and go through with you to make sure we agree on project scope and objective.
Next step, we present a proposed solution, focusing on function, lifespan, quality, choice of material, operating and maintenance costs, and environmental impact. Our goal is to deliver a sustainable solution that creates added value to your company,
