Evaporative cooling with water mist

Avoid increased operating costs with a simple and energy‑efficient solution for providing extra cooling to equipment such ascondenser units during periods when the surrounding temperature is higher than normal.

Air‑conditioning systems, ventilation condensers and freezer units, and similar equipment lose efficiency on hot days because their circulating coolant cannot be cooled as effectively when the air temperature is elevated. To maintain the coolant temperature even in warm weather, the unit must use more energy, which leads to higher operating costs.

A simple and highly energy‑efficient way to ensure a continued effective cooling process is to install a spray system with misting nozzles.

How does evaporative cooling with misting nozzles work?

The mist nozzles create a fine water mist that is drawn into the cooling unit, where the tiny water droplets evaporate. This evaporation process lowers the temperature of the cooling cells.

For water droplets to evaporate, energy is required — in this case, the energy comes from the surface of the warm cooling cells. As the droplets in the mist transition from liquid to gas, they absorb energy from the cooling cells, causing the cells’ temperature to drop.

By choosing the right type of nozzle with the appropriate droplet size, you can achieve maximum cooling efficiency. It is also important to select a nozzle with low water consumption to reduce costs and avoid potential issues caused by excess water.

Quick and simple installation

Our solution for energy-efficient cooling of different types of condenser units is to install HA misting nozzles near the condenser cooling cells. HA nozzles produce a fine water mist at 3-5 bar and are available in many different sizes, spray angles and materials.

In addition to nozzles, we also supply pipes, hoses and T-couplings for easy and quick installation. If you are looking for a complete solution we recommend the DustFlex system, which consists of hose, T-couplings and HA nozzles.

Project review and proposed solution

In order to ensure that we deliver the optimal solution, it is important to carefully review the various factors that affect the choice of solution and product, the objective of the investment, and any requirements and wishes early on in the project.

A start-up meeting is important to find out about various factors that will affect choice of equipment and solution in order to achieve the most efficient and sustainable solution. We are happy to set up the start-up meeting as a web meeting or a site visit, depending on your preference. All details and information from the start-up meeting we will summarise and go through with you to make sure we agree on project scope and objective.

Next step, we present a proposed solution, focusing on function, lifespan, quality, choice of material, operating and maintenance costs, and environmental impact. Our goal is to deliver a sustainable solution that creates added value to your company,
