Bed limiters are installed directly above a packed bed to prevent movement of the packing.

Bed limiters are particularly important in processes where packings can experience uplift due to high gas loads or temporary pressure surges. In addition, they can be used to separate different random packing sizes to avoid mixing different types of packings inside the column.

Bed limiters are designed to minimise disturbance of gas and liquid distribution across the bed.

Bed limiters prevent packing uplift due to high gas loading or sporadic pressure surges

Bed limiters are installed directly above a packed bed to prevent uplift or excessive movement. Bed limiters are particularly useful in processes where packings can experience uplift due to high gas loads or temporary pressure surges.

Bed limiters can also be used to separate different random packing sizes to avoid mixing different types of packings inside the column.

Depending on the model, bed limiters either sit directly on top of the packed bed or attached to the vessel wall. It is also possible to hang the bed limiter directly from the liquid distributor and/or redistributor. Additionally, bed limiters can be integrated into the design of the liquid distributor or redistributor
