ALLENTECH Primary Shoe Seal
Installed in thousands of tanks since 1992
The primary mechanical shoe seal is considered a liquid mounted seal per API and EPA recommendations. The tightly spaced hoop springs exert a nearly constant force against the tank shell to maintain the seal even around peaked vertical seams and abrupt tank distortions. We have completed thousands of installations throughout the world and have eliminated seal compatibility and replacement issues for AST operators since 1992.

Benefits
- High durability
Long service life thanks to fully hardened Type 301 stainless steel pressure mechanisms. - Lightweight
Specially designed for aluminium internal floating roofs (IFR). - Excellent compatibility
Stainless steel and PTFE components are compatible with almost all stored products. - Even pressure / Gap sealing
The arch springs apply even pressure to the shoe plate through continuous contact, ensuring that no slippage occurs.
Design features
Threaded S.S. pins welded directly to the shoes
No through holes that can cause corrosion and increase friction against the tank shell.
Hoop springs
Maximises shoe flexibility without varying spring pressure. Shoes are pressed against the shell along a long line, eliminating point contact and wear.
The hoop springs are bolted on both shoes and IFR
Provides positive static bonding every two feet below the liquid level.
Carefully designed geometry
Eliminates binding, excessive friction and high forces on IFR.
Stainless steel bucket plate, aluminium brackets and PTFE vapour barrier
Compatible with most products. Stainless steel or aluminium fasteners.
Each hanger is firmly reinforced
Ensures stiffness and strength even for tanks that are not perfectly round.
Flexible design, spare parts in stock
ALLENTECH bulkhead seals can be quickly retrofitted to all IFR brands.
Available low profile version, fluid mounted shoe
Maximises storage volume and meets API and EPA requirements.
