What is the difference between a Vortex tube and other cold air products like Cold Gun?
Vortex tubes are the basic component of all EXAIR products that generate cold air flow. It is available in three different sizes and covers a wide range of cooling capacities. All models have an adjustable valve at the hot end, which makes it possible to regulate the distribution between hot and cold air flow. On special order, this valve can be replaced by a preset nozzle (orifice) that provides a specific temperature increase or decrease.
The Vortex Tube also contains interchangeable inserts, known as 'generators', which control the airflow and thus adapt the performance to the application.
Most applied cold air products - such as Cabinet Cooler, Cold Gun, Mini Cooler and Component Cooler - have a fixed total flow rate optimised for each product. In these models, the valve has been replaced with a pre-set nozzle to provide maximum cooling capacity.
One exception is the Adjustable Spot Cooler, where the temperature can be adjusted and the flow changed by changing the generators. All cold air products also have features that make them easy to install and low in noise.
