Construction details
Double scraper tip
The HMT Secondary Wiper Seal utilises a multi-pointed scraper tip that conforms well to the tank shell and ensures an excellent seal.
Hardened steel pressure components
Specially hardened steel does not fatigue over time, maintains the correct pressure against the tank shell and prevents leakage throughout the life of the seal.
Continuous vapour barrier under compression plates
The continuous fabric vapour barrier under the compression plates provides much better seal integrity than systems that rely on gaskets between plates.
Narrow compression plates
Provides excellent flexibility and adaptation to tank shell deviations, while reducing wear on the scraper tip compared to wider plates that concentrate pressure at the joints and cause uneven wear.
Top-class vapour barriers
Premium fabrics ensure optimal product compatibility and long service life, including flame retardant PTFE according to DIN 22118. HMT offers different fabric options depending on operational requirements. Our standard PTFE fabrics are laminated and superior in durability, impermeability and service life, even under the most demanding operating conditions.
Adapted to the tank
Every tank shell is unique, and seals must be designed to handle specific edge spaces. HMT's design and automated manufacturing allows each seal to be manufactured exactly to the customer's edge space and/or verticality data, ensuring optimum performance and minimising the risk of operational problems over time.
