Aluminator® HFC IFR

Honeycomb full contact internal floating roof (AIFR)

Aluminator HFC is the market's leading honeycomb full-contact aluminium internal floating roof (AIFR).

Built with the same precision and engineering as the rest of the Aluminator range, the HFC is ideal for full-contact applications with products that are compatible with aluminium.

HFC has several advantages over other honeycomb AIFRs: a superior structural system that facilitates fast and consistent installation, and minimal welds in contact with the product, improving the long-term durability and integrity of the roof.

Advantages of the programme

  • Improved panel integrity and durability
HFC honeycomb panels are formed without welds along the bottom edge, eliminating over 98 % of welds in contact with the product. This ensures long-term integrity, maintains the structural strength of the panels and increases the life of the roof.
  • Handles high cycles and dynamic loads
The roof structure and panel design can handle high filling rates, high cycle rates and dynamic loads without compromising performance or service life.
  • Low emissions
The full-contact design minimises the accumulation of product vapours under the roof and reduces VOC emissions.
  • NFPA 11 compliant
The full-contact design meets NFPA requirements for fire protection at the seals.
  • Supports all seal types
HFC is designed to support all types of seals, including heavy or high pull configurations such as wax scrapers, thanks to reinforced perimeter and high buoyancy.

Construction details

Moulded panels without welds
The unique panel shape eliminates over 98 % of welds in contact with the product. Each panel is helium tested before delivery.

Heavy superstructure
Heavy-duty girder system supports and joins the panels, handling dynamic loads without stressing the panels and facilitating fast, efficient and consistent installation.

Heavy extruded perimeter
Provides exceptional strength and stiffness where the greatest dynamic loads occur.

Test port for gas-free control
Each panel has a fully threaded test port and perforated honeycomb core for future testing during service.

Flexible support options
The HFC can either be supported on legs or suspended. Suspension allows the position of the roof to be adjusted without the need for personnel to enter the tank - adjustment is made from the outside on the fixed roof using cables.
